Two factory plants are making TV panels. Yesterday, Plant A produced twice as many panels as Plant B. Four percent of the panels from Plant A and 5% of the panels from Plant B were defective. How many panels did Plant B produce, if the two plants together produced 910 defective panels?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Let A be # of panels produced by plant A, and similarly B is panels produced by plant B. we can write two equations. First, plant A made 2x as many panels as plant B, so A=2B Next 4% of A's panels plus 5% of B's panels adds up to 910. Turn my word sentence into an equation, and replace A with 2B. Solve the equation for B. then find the value of Afrom A=2B
