2x + 3y = 6 -x + 5y = 10 If you were solving this system of equations using the addition method, which step makes the most sense? Add everything together to get x + 8y = 16 and then solve for x. Multiply the bottom equation by 2 thus eliminating the x variable when the equations are added together. Add -5y to both sides of the bottom equation to get the x variable isolated. Multiply the top equation by 5 and the bottom equation by 3 thus eliminating the y variable when the equations are added together.

use elimination but first make the second equation have 2x which you need to time 2 to the second equation and add both equation to eliminate x and you will find y and later plug in y to find x
