is this written in scientific notation 2.01 x 10^-5

Yes.

why?

It is scientific notation because there is a single digit number multiplied by ten however many times. If it was 20.1x10^-5 or 201x10^-5, it wouldn't be correctly written in scientific notation because those are double and triple digit numbers instead of single digit numbers.
