Convert the following function into standard form, y=ax^2+bx+c.

y=2(x-5)(x+2)

(All of the answers I've filled in and need checked have question marks next to them!)

Part 1: Use the FOIL method to multiply (x-5)(x+2)

Now combine like terms to produce a quadratic trinomial:

x^2+3x-10?

Take your answer from the first part and distribute the 2 through the entire expression to produce your final answer:

(x+3x-10)^2 =16x^2-80x+100?
