OpenStudy (firejay5):

I need help with C, E, & F, but first check if A, B, & D have correct answers and measurements. Thank you so much! :D

OpenStudy (firejay5):

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

A, B, D are all correct, good work

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

work the other three out in basically the same way, similar triangles have equal ratios for coresponding sides, except this time use RE=27cm

OpenStudy (firejay5):

Can you work out C for me as an example?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

36/27=(36+24)/AT

OpenStudy (firejay5):

explain what you did

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

Well the triangles CRE, and CAT are similar, side CR corresponds with CA, and side RE corresponds with side AT, So the ratio of CR:RE = CA:AT

OpenStudy (firejay5):

36/27 = 36 + 24 over x

OpenStudy (firejay5):

is that what you mean

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

yes

OpenStudy (firejay5):

Help me with E

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

the method is the same,

OpenStudy (firejay5):

a person confused me about it

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

set up the ratio equations with the relevent sides lengths, then subsitute the length in (from the diagram ), and if it helps set the unknown length to be x, them solve for x
