discussion....what i wanna know is why do people hate on gays so and shouldn't we all have freedom of speech and also freedom on any sites to support gays. @justnick09

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Ashleyisakitty today someone asked this kinda the same question in history and they told us it wasnt learning and deleted it can u explain to me y

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

Well they probably deleted it because it was a discussion forum unrelated to history.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

he asked why people are mean to gays and how did it start

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i truly believe thats history and it always will be

OpenStudy (justnick09):

what i asked actually was why is there discrimination if our founding fathers named us a free country

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

Sexual orientation isnt history, sexual orientation is related to psychology.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea

OpenStudy (justnick09):

its not about sexual orientation and gay laws are history

OpenStudy (anonymous):

gays have rights and human rights are history

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

Sure, the implication of laws that restrict people from certain activities would be considered history. I'm not understanding the point of this thread.

OpenStudy (justnick09):

and its not just gays we have people who stereo type and profile to the point of ...wars

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we were yelled at for talking about gay rights in history

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

Well, there is a multitude of factors as to why the moderators chose to delete it. Seeing as I was not there I cannot answer as to why they did.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

discrimination is one of the stupid things humans love and i agree with @Ashleyisakitty it would be more under psychology as discrimination would be it has parts of history but isnt a history topic

OpenStudy (justnick09):

if thats not history i don't think i know what is

OpenStudy (justnick09):

@thomaster mabey thomaster can help us understand

OpenStudy (justnick09):

because i am very confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is history but that does not mean it was the correct topic or it may have gone to far and offended someone

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how is it offending to say we support gays?

OpenStudy (justnick09):

we didnt incriminate or blame anybody in fact we simplily stood up for human rights

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

If you want to talk about social issues, ask these questions in our public chat pods. However, here at OS we dont have any section devoted to the discussion of social issues. :)

OpenStudy (justnick09):

Its not a social issue its history...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i see were ur coming from ash

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

If you could reword the exact question, that would make it easier for me to explain why it was deleted.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i didnt see it so i dont know but there may have been someone that wasnt with you that said something or they were trying to prevent something from happening

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like someone rude coming in say i hate gays take this question down

OpenStudy (justnick09):

its deleted....@thomaster

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and it wasnt explained fully of y it was deleted but they made it sound like they were being haters

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not being mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but this site is use to learn ..LEARN about anything but most people use it to cheat

OpenStudy (justnick09):

heres my point Ms. we used NO foul language we were NOT off topic and we asked a LOGICAL question at a website where we are told to ask questions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so being able to discuss something like this should be aloud

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it HUMAN RIGHTS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i assume they thought it was not the right place to put it

thomaster (thomaster):

I took it down because in the first place it wasn't a history question. it was also unrelated to education. And exactly questions like these always tend to end in a big discussion with a lot of insults and inappropriate behavior. I was just trying to prevent that as it happened a lot of times before here on OpenStudy.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Hi, I have been viewing this conversation for some time. I will outline a few scenarios. 1. Homosexuality can be considered an offensive topic; conflicting opinions can cause disruption and incite drama. 2. Discussion will have to directly related to homosexual history (i.g., homosexual rights and homosexual activism in the United States, domestic, and/or international.) These types of discussions are a slippery slope, much like religion. While it's not inherently against the Code of Conduct, it is discouraged, and a moderator reserved the right; granted to him by the Terms and Service, to delete the thread based on his discretion. If you feel someone is being offensive on your topic in relation to the aforementioned topics, then report it to a moderator. If it continues to happen, the thread may be deleted altogether. You may or may not be notified, and you may or may not receive a warning, verbal or otherwise. If a moderator feels it' unfit, he or she reserves every right to delete it. - Compassionate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it sounds to me you wanted not only the past but current so that would not be history

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there were no insults till u and Taylor came

OpenStudy (compassionate):

@kag , @okrzesik10 , @justnick09 >>> See my post.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean she was being very rude about it and like a 2 year old she tattled

OpenStudy (compassionate):

>>> See @thomaster 's post for his reason.

OpenStudy (justnick09):

You know what you Moderators are right and ill take my statement your user names and message whoever is in charge of this website

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i agree @Compassionate

OpenStudy (justnick09):

thanks for your time goodbye
