Find the value of x and y
The two diagonal lines are transversals of the parallel lines. If you don't know what this means, look at this diagram: http://moodle.tbaisd.org/file.php/871/LinesAndAngles/AnglePairs/transversal2.jpg Angles 1, 3, 5, and 7 all equal each other and 2, 4, 6, and 8 all equal each other. If you apply this to your problem, the top two angles equal each other and the bottom two angles equal each other and you can use those to solve for x and y, respectively. Do you understand what to do now?
@amonoconnor i dont know what you did but im preety sure thats not the answer i actually got C .
F.... Yeeaah, I just went back and check the angle positions. Sorry...
4x + 2 = 62 4x = 60 x = 15 12y = 144 y = 12 Which is A. @lanana I think you did it right but made a small mistake on getting x somewhere.
oops , thanks (: @bagajr
No problem, glad to help
