A football is kicked with a velocity of 18 m/s at an angle of 20°. What is the ball's acceleration in the horizontal direction as it flies through the air?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

acceleration? means change in velocity per time for that change.

OpenStudy (roadjester):

@douglaswinslowcooper no time is given

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer is 0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You could, ignoring air resistance, say that the horizontal acceleration as it flies is zero. Usually, a question like this is looking for the horizontal component of velocity. Sometimes, they give a brief impulse period during which the ball went from 0 to the final velocity.
