Geometry Locus? Please help. Name the locus of points that is 5in from a given point 10in away from a given line that is 5in from the given point.
You need to describe the required Loci and draw a figure
The basic point of the question is Name the locus of points that is 5in from a given point 10in away from a given line. And that line has to be 5 inch from thegiven point. So, there are 4 points. 1st point is the one with 5 inches, draw a circle from that. on that circle, there is a point which is 10 inch away from a given line, which is 5 inch away from a given point. this makes a triangle i believe. In the diagram i drew, b is 5 inches away from A, which is 10 inches away from line CD, at point C. Because no other specification is given such as it should be in the middle of the line or something similar. the question sounds very weird though :P
Yeah it is a bit confusing, I'm trying to understand it now
Shouldn't AB and CD be equal then?
Possibly making a Isosceles Triangle?
Oh wait, there is a point, which is a distance of 5 inches away from the line and another point which is a distance of 10 inches away from the line. Then it should be 3 points, one 10 in away from a line, and in the middle of that another point, which we take a given point. the question is so confusing. ._.
So it doesn't make an isosceles triangle?
