Solve the logarithm: Thanks!

OpenStudy (yttrium):

Take note: (1/25) = 5^(-2) 125 = 5^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its clear that 5^-2 = 1/25 further 5^3 = 125, tehrefore 5^-2 = 5^(3(6x+4)) Now just equate the exponents, like -2 = 18 x + 12 which is -14/18 = x

OpenStudy (yttrium):

Upon substituting, we will have: 5^-2 = 5^(3(6x+4)) Equate the exponents in the left to the exponent to the left since they have same base. Therefore, -2 = 3(6x+4) -2 = 18x + 12 Hence x = -14/18 And in lowest term x = -7/9

Okay, thanks!
