If two different species of fish fossils were found in two different layers of sedimentary rock, what might one infer about the specimens?

give medal please , now the answer ; the inferring would be that the fish's age varied and the first old one would be found more deep in the sedimentary reck while the surface sedimentary layer will have new means just died or not much time dead fish ......... medal please.
