i've forgotten these Given f(x)=x^2 find g(x) knowing that g(x) is obtained by a horiontal shift 4 to the left followed by a horiontal compression of a factor 0.5

OpenStudy (math&ing001):

Horiontal shift 4 to the left means f(x) - 4 and horizontal compression of a factor 0.5 means f(0.5x) - 4 so g(x)=0.25*x^2 - 4 But we actually call it horizontal stretch when the 0<factor<1
