I need help with a math proportion. See the link.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does anybody know how to solve the proportion, I really need help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first cross multiply the problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would part of it be 35x-35?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes the first part, how about the second one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK, I'll try the second part now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

20x+10?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes so now you have 35x-35 = 20x+10 now bring the x in one side and the constants #s to the other side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think that means it would be: 35x-20x = 35-10? <-- I'm not sure about this part.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

35x-20x = 35+10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now combine them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK, I'll try top figure it out first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15x = 45 15/15 = x and 45/15 = 3 x = 3 Am I right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup you got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Awesome, thank you so much for walking me through it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problems :)
