help- geometry triangles- I need help understanding some things!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (gorv):

use tan(theta)=perpendicular/base

OpenStudy (gorv):

@abbiewinter ....is this enough

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont understand

OpenStudy (gorv):

these both are right angle triangle

OpenStudy (gorv):

lenght of perpendicular are given ..60 and 40....u jst need to find out the length of base @abbiewinter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would i do 40 sqrt 3 and ?

OpenStudy (gorv):

u know tan30=40/(a to c wall dist.) and tan60=60/(a to b wall distance)

OpenStudy (gorv):

u doing it right @abbiewinter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im confused. do i tan30= 40/ac (ac)(tan30)= 40 ac= 40/tan30 ?????

OpenStudy (gorv):

tan 30= perpendicular/base perpendicular=40

OpenStudy (gorv):

base = distance between source and wall

OpenStudy (gorv):

not ac......its horizontal line
