This is a very badly worded question. DNA stores the info (genes) used to make new proteins. It carries it from organism to organism through the generations and from cell to cell through cell division. But mRNA copied from the DNA carries the info used to make new proteins from the nucleus of the cell (where it is stored as DNA) into the cytoplasm where the ribosomes actually make the proteins. So without more info, it could be either.
