You're finding the inverse of function g(x) = 3x - 5. Replace g(x) with y. Interchange x and y in the resulting equation. solve that for y. replace this y with f^(-1)*x). that's your inverse function.

Okay, first of all I did not ask you to respond to my question, you had a choice second of all I did not ask for your help, third nor did I ask for an answer, I liked the problems worked out to know how to work out other problems like it, so Im sure its your job to do what ever you do, but its not your job to assume I wanted an answer...Thank you

Sorry. In part I was responding to your statement, "no help ty tho." I don't appreciate such a response after I'd make the effort to give you some guidance. Perhaps you can find someone else whose teaching style is more to your liking and comfort level. You are unlikely to find another set of instructions clearer than the one I've given you. Come back to this discussion after you've found someone else and compare the steps taken; you'll find that they are the same or essentially the same. Good luck.
