Question

I'm a just for fun writer. I'm thinking about writing a new story but i want opinions before i do anything yet.
Here's the summery:
Detective Keenan Wager of the NYPD has her job cut out for her when she is assigned the case file “Fantasy killer”. Having already killed three women and staging them as fantasy characters, she along with her best friend and partner detective James Ross have to find the psychopathic serial killer before the death threat she received becomes reality.

I'm a just for fun writer too, but my mother advised me that you shouldn't tell people your ideas, let alone publicly post them online. Someone might steal the idea and take credit for it.
