OpenStudy (seaturtle113):

Is anyone good at triangles in Geometry? Cause I really seriously need help. I will give a fan, a testimonial, and a medal if you can help me. :) Thanks so much!

OpenStudy (seaturtle113):

Would it be C?

OpenStudy (phi):

Do you know that triangle RST is congruent (exactly matches) triangle TXY (and when you write it that way, we know that R matches with T, S with X and T with Y)

OpenStudy (seaturtle113):

Yeah I think i get that..... It just says angle are and then the options don't seem like they would go with it.. idk it's really confusing me

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

@phi are u sure ? i mean it cud match any one , name of it doesnt matter i guess :|

OpenStudy (phi):

It is asking what angle R corresponds to in the other triangle. Yes I am sure, you *should* write the vertices so that corresponding vertices match up.

OpenStudy (seaturtle113):

R matches up with T

OpenStudy (phi):

It is asking what angle R corresponds to in the other triangle. we know that R matches with T, what angle in the other triangle matches with the vertex T ?

OpenStudy (phi):

to name an angle, you list the 3 "points" that would make the angle if you put a pencil at the starting point, draw a line to the center of the angle (T here), and then a line to the other final point.

OpenStudy (phi):

if you follow that, it will make sense that the "T" will be the middle letter when specify the angle at vertex T

OpenStudy (phi):

lost ?

OpenStudy (seaturtle113):

Slightly..... The last answer makes the most sense to me

OpenStudy (phi):

the last answer says TXY that means put your pencil on T, draw a line to X, then draw a line from X to Y you will form an angle. Does that angle match up with the angle with T as its vertex ?

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

according to phi see this the congruent matches have the same color

OpenStudy (seaturtle113):

Okay yes.. I believe it does.

OpenStudy (phi):

and how do you "write out" the angle with the two green marks ?

OpenStudy (seaturtle113):

AngleT?

OpenStudy (phi):

the angle at T but using 3 letters, how do you name it ?

OpenStudy (seaturtle113):

Triangle TXY

OpenStudy (phi):

if you put your pencil on T and draw a line to X, and then a line from X to Y you will make an angle. Its vertex will be at X Do you understand ?

OpenStudy (phi):

in other words ANGLE TXY is not what you want.

OpenStudy (seaturtle113):

OHHH!!! I think I get it

OpenStudy (seaturtle113):

I want the second choice where the vertex will be T

OpenStudy (phi):

bingo!

OpenStudy (seaturtle113):

Okay! I get it! Hallelujah! Thanks so so SO much!
