What is the area of the triangle? a right triangle with a base labeled 24 miles, a height labeled 18 miles, and a third side labeled 30 miles 72 sq mi 432 sq mi 216 sq mi 360 sq mi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The area of a triangle is 1/2bh -- where b is base and h is height. So here it would be 1/2(24)(18)= 432. 432 square miles. Also, this is in the wrong category. It should be in geometry. Just letting you know. :)

OpenStudy (mrnood):

as stated - the area is "half the height times base" (hb)/2 The calculation is (24*18)/2 The above answer is not correct
