f(x) = |x| - 1, g(x) = 1/x What is the domain of (f*g)(x)? {x|x E real numbers} {x|x ≠ 0} {x|x ≠ -1} {x|x ≠ -1, x ≠ 1}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm thinking {x|x ≠ -1, x ≠ 1}, but I want to make sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is wrong with (f*g)(1)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why wouldn't it be in the domain?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because that's the equation formula your supposed to use to find the domain using the numbers above.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What are you talking about? (f*g)(1) =[ |(1)| - 1 ] * [ 1 / (1) ] = 0 What is the problem?
