evaluate a random function and its inverse. other than giving a direct answer this is the best way.

f(x)=2x+1 g(x)=(x-1)/2 now do (f o g)(x)

It will always be x. I can't really explain why, but may have something to do with the fact that inverses are reflected over the line y=x.
