factor: x^3-3x-2

OpenStudy (yttrium):

You know synthetic division? Try to divide that expression into x-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

???, oh man synthetic division, that was awhile back lol

OpenStudy (yttrium):

You still remember?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

do it with long division, then...not that hard. first term is x^2. x^2*(x-2) is x^3 -2x^2. subtract that from x^3-3x-2 and repeat the process, building up the answer.

oh i ve never heard of that trick!!
