Point O is the center of the given circle. What is the measure of ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

can you deduce angle EFO ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does EFO have to equal like 180 or something?@UnkleRhaukus

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

its an isosceles triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is 38?right?@UnkleRhaukus

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

good, so can you now find angle EOF

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what does isosceles triangle add up to though?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

the angles in any (2D) triangle add to 180°

OpenStudy (anonymous):

eof is 90?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

EFO + OEF + EOF = 180° 38° + 38° + EOF = 180°

OpenStudy (anonymous):

104

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

yeah angle EOF is 104° now can you get angle FOD ?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

remember that the angles on a straight line also add to 180°

OpenStudy (anonymous):

76?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

good work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the measure of DF is 76 or 104? 76 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

answer?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

does DF with a line over it , mean the same thing as the angle DOF?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think so

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

im not used to the notation with the curvy line above it, but i think it just mean angle DOF. you just found angle DOF = angle FOD so i think thats your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its 76

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

yeah i think so
