I don't see the choices but if this is about the Crusades I think I can help you. The European nations felt that Jerusalem and the holy land was of a religious importance to them, so when the Islamic people took over the city, they responded with the Crusades. The Crusades were 'Holy Wars' meant to retake a holy land from 'heathens'. The European powers felt threatened by the Islamic people sop they retaliated to push them back.
