Greg picks apples to make money over the summer. He earns $3 an hour plus $2.50 for each bushel he picks. Write a formula that will help Greg determine how much money he will earn in one week. a=total amount earned h=hours worked in one week c=number of bushels picked

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Well we have 2 variables we don't know here...we have 'h' for hours he works...and 'c' for bushels he's picked... we know he earns $3 every hour...so 3h and we know he gets $2.50 each bushel...so 2.50c The total he would earn would be the sum of those...so A = ?

$4.50?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

No you aren't physically adding the 2 numbers...because you cannot combine 2 different variables...it would be A = 3h + 2.50c
