What is a division of labor??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The division of labour is the specialization of Labour economics who perform specific tasks and roles. Because of the large amount of labor saved by giving workers specialized tasks in Industrial Revolution era factories, classical economists such as Adam Smith and mechanical engineers such as Charles Babbage were proponents of division of labor. Also, having workers perform single or limited tasks eliminated the long training period required to train craftsmen, who were replaced with lesser paid but more productive unskilled workers

the exact definition is ----the assignment of different parts of a manufacturing process or task to different people in order to improve efficiency.
