well your question is 2x^2 -13x + 20 split -13 into -5 -8 that gives us 2x^2 -5x -8x +20 group the first two and last two *take - sign out in the second this reverses the sign inside the brackets!! (2x^2 - 5x) -(8x -20) take x common from first set and 4 from the second! x(2x-5) -4(2x -5) now take 2x-2 common which gives (2x-5)(x-4) this is your answer!! get whats goin on here? =D
