Topic Description: For this chat, you will need to read over Wilson’s Fourteen Points (which appeared earlier in this unit) and answer the following questions: Which of the points was most beneficial in maintaining peace in post-war Europe, and why? Ok so here are Wilsons points written in a way that normal people can understand :P 1. There will be peace negotiations will come first before war. 2. Ships may go anywhere. 3. Free trade everywhere. 4. No more militarism. 5. That every country should have decision on if it wants to be independent. 6. Leave Russia alone and let it return to its original state. 7. Belgium will be restored to its original state. 8. Germany will leave France and give it Alsace-Lorraine. 9. Italy's borders should be redrawn based on the borders of nationality in that part of Europe. 10. The countries that the Austro-Hungarian Empire has broken up into will be left alone as well. 11. Balkan states will be relinquished. Serbia will have a border with the sea, and the borders of the Balkan states will be reconstructed. 12. The Dardanelles Strait will be open to any country for trade; Turkey is a new country, all the land Turkey attacked shall be left alone. 13. The country of Poland is created. 14. The creation of an international group to solve problems. The group was called the League of Nations. It was made up of the leaders of France, Great Britain, America, and Italy.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What about the questions doe?

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

im still trying to figure that out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

Well i would say that the point I would change is the point to have no more militarism. I think that power in military is what keeps the countries safe from other counties invading. It is not like it stops any of the other countries from doing this anyway. As for the part about Europe i am not sure :/

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

not much help sorry :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (xmoses1):
