The population, p, of a certain type of rare tree can be modeled by the function p(t)= (112t+50t^2)^1/3, where t is time, in years. a) Determine the rate of change of the number of trees at t=5 years. b) When will there be 16 trees? What is the rate of change of trees at this time?

OpenStudy (ybarrap):

So for a) you need p'(5). Do you know derivatives? For b) you need to solve for t where p(t) =16= (112t+50t^2)^1/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes I know derivatives could you simplify b)?
