If an experiment does not confirm the hypothesis it was designed to test, which of the following is true of the experiment? A. was probably a waste of time. B. may lead the experimenter to a new hypothesis and set of experiments. C. should be manipulated until it does confirm the hypothesis. D. should not be repeated.

1=b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is defenitly not A or C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B! Experiments are rarely a waste of time, even the failed ones. We often learn from failure. C is just bad science. If you manipulated it, then your hypothesis is not being proven at all. You're just a liar. D isn't true because experiments *should* be repeated if they fail. Something could have gone wrong. It's important to go back and fix any possible sources of error.
