I work as a manager at a restaurant
-I knew the owners, they are good friends. They needed someone to fill in and I was in need of a job at the time, so I started the job, and I loved it. I started as just part time, but loved the people so much that I didn't want to quit.
-Math has helped, because I have definitely been counting a lot of money. Cooking classes have come in handy, and so have mechanics, because I have to cook and when the machines break, I can fix them without calling someone out to fix them. Psychology helps a lot because I know how to talk to or deal with certain people.
-I really like my life and job, because I get paid enough to support myself until I get out of college, and the job is great because of my relationship with the people I work with and all of the regulars that come into the restaurant.
-I love to talk to all the people, knowing exactly what they are going to order is fun, too. Especially when we have new employees, you get to amaze them and they think you read minds or something. I get to meet all kinds of people working there. Everyone comes in, and I get to learn about people of all types and backgrounds.
-I have to be pleasant to be around, but strong, so people don't take advantage. I have to keep a close eye on things so nothing goes too terribly wrong, and so it doesn't cost the owners money. I have to know how to deal with all kinds of people, whether they have disabilities or if they are just in a bad mood.
