A recipe for molding dough calls for flour and salt in a ratio of 3 to 2. If you use 4 cups of salt, how much flour should you use?

OpenStudy (gudden):

flour : salt = 3 : 2 so when we use 4 cups of salt then the amount of flour to be used (let) x since the ratio must be equal therefore x:4 = 3:2 which means x/4 = 3/2 crossmultiplying them gives us 2x = 12 which means x = 6
