I am not sure, I think it doesn't look right.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

(x^2+2x+1) ' = (x+1)^2 ' = 2x+2 did I derive correctly?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I basically said let x+1 = a, but I was confused, ty for your clarification.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

by the way, did you know you can check such things quickly at wolframalpha?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Yeah, but I don't know how to put up a question about derivative in there.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I see.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wolfram is pretty good at guessing what you mean. You can either write dy/dx or you can write it like you did here.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't mind asnwering math questions, but sometimes it's just quicker to look it up that way, you won't need to wait for someone to be around to answer you :)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

yeah, it's definitely a good site, ty for your help!
