A prism whose base is a 9 sided polygon is intersected by a plane. In which case could the cross section be a 10 sided polygon?
a. when the plane is parallel to the base of the prism.
b. when the plane is perpendicular to the base and contains one edge of the prism.
c. when the plane makes a narrow angle with the base.
I think it is C
The diagram shows a cylindrical shell and its axis of rotation. If a plane passes through the axis of rotation, which cross section will be formed.
shape 1
shape 2
shape 3

yes it's c
OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):
and i think it's shape 1

No it's not shape 1 that's what I had though but was wrong. Im thinking I'm not understanding the question.
OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):
me neither, what the hell does "through" even mean
OpenStudy (anonymous):
im thinking now that the its passing through the axis perpendicular to the based of a cylinder so it may be shape 2. ugh
