Machines make work easier by providing extra help with specific jobs, depending on what the machine was built for. For instance a jack will make changing your car tire easier by adding force on one end to make lifting the car easier so you can change the tire.

or.....if you have a box you need to put on a truck, a simple machine called a ramp can easily do that for you...[less force more distance]
