How is methapase 1 in meiosis different from mataphase in mitosis.

Mitosis, chromosomes are about to split at the center, which is the same as saying the two sister chromatids separate.
OpenStudy (petiteme):
Meiosis, they are not going to split. One whole chromosome from each pair will go to one daughter cell and the other to the second daughter cell.
