Graph a piecewise function that illustrates an employee's hourly pay, w, as a function of the number of hours, h, that employee works.

Original problem it relates to: a local store owner pays her employees time-and-a-half for overtime. That means for every hour an employee works more than 40 hours per week, the store will pay 1.5 times the regular hourly wage of $8.50.

hang on misread; since it wants pay as a function of hours worked:

$$h = 8.5$$      (less than or equal to 40 hours)
$$h = 12.75$$  (more than 40 hours)
