OpenStudy (anonymous):

What are you trying to solve? To see if its true?

OpenStudy (nerdy_3000):

It's an linear equation and I'm solving for x

OpenStudy (nerdy_3000):

*both of the xes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multply both sides by 4 and solve \[x+8=12-3x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not good at these. :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

steps are: add \(3x\) to both sides subtract \(8\) from both sides divide both sides by \(4\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do it in your head, impress your teacher \(x+3x=4x\) and \(12-8=4\) and \(4\div 4=1\) so \(x=1\)

Thank you very much!
