I have a question about using the discriminant to find number of REAL solutions. -x^2+7x-2=0 I got 41 which would be no real solutions correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It has real solutions. Lets say discriminant is D, When D>0, there are more than 1 real solutions when D = 0, there is only 1 solution when D<0, there is no real solution. in this case the discriminant would be (49-4*(-1)(-2)) which is 41. It is positive and above 0. There fore it will have 2 real solutions which are x = 6.70156 or 0.29843

Ah, I should have known that. Thank you so much!
