Can someone help me solve? An upward force is applied to a 6.0-kilogram box. This force displaces the box upward by 10.00 meters. What is the work done by the force on the box?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

w = m g h if gravity is the only resistance

OpenStudy (mrnood):

This question does not tell you the magnitude of the force. If the force is greater than the weight of the box then it will do work not only against gravity, but also to add KE to the box as it accelerates upwards. The work done is equal to the force x distance moved in direction of force. There is not sufficient information to answer this question.
