mean refers to the average of the numbers.... and is calculated by sum of numbers over the count of numbers and here in this question u would get the following equation on using the formula (9+5+8+y+12+2y+10)/7 = y on cross multiplying it we get 44 + 3y = 7y now solve it further nn u could get the value of y
