Determine if the following functions are increasing or decreasing, and compare their rates of change. | y = -x - 3 | | A line which passes through the points (3, 1) and (4, -2) | A. Both functions are increasing and have the same rate of change. B. Both functions are decreasing and have different rates of change. C. Both functions are increasing and have different rates of change. D. Both functions are decreasing and have the same rate of change.
do you know how to find the equation for the line from the two points?
No, it's for my little sister's homework and I don't even remember how to do this..
okay well the easiest way imo is use the slope formula, slope=change in y/change in x, then set y=0 t find the y-intercept. From there you can compare the two lines that said do you remember what is meant by increasing and decreasing functions?
Yeah, she just came over here and she figured out the answer, now that you typed that she remembered how to do it so thanks for helping!
