***MEDAL & FAN*** Nadie drove to a birthday party by following directions from her friend. From her house, she drove twenty‾one miles east, 9 miles north, 8 miles west, then fifteen miles south. Match each direction with the number of miles she must drive in that direction to return home. east: A: 21 north: B: 15 south: C: 9 west: D: 8

The opposite of what the directions from home were, obviously. So for every mile traveled east, you need to travel a mile back west.

So since for example the directions were 9 miles north, you need to travel 9 miles south to go back.
