1. n+4/3=n/4 For this one you want to get n by itself. So multiply both sides by 4 and it should lead to an easier equation to solve. 2. 1/7y-5=2/9y Put the variables on the same side of the equation and -5 on the other side. 3. 5/x+2=3/x+1 Move 2 onto the other side and 3/x to the other side. Subtract 5/x-3/x=2/x. Then multiply the other side by x to get 2, so the new equation would look like -1x=2 4. (n-5)/(n+8)=2/7 For this one you can turn (n-5)/(n+8) into two separate fractions: n/n and -5/8. So, the new equation would be n-5/8=2/7 5. x/y=a/b: solve for x If you multiply a/b by y then you would get x. Hope this helped.
