9.The size of a television is determined by the length (L) of the screen’s diagonal. The diagram below shows the dimension of a rectangular television screen. On the bottom of the rectangle it's 50 inches and the sides is 33 inches. To the nearest tenth of an inch, how big is the TV?

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

Here use this link to understand pythagoras theorem & couple of example to solve http://www.mathsisfun.com/pythagoras.html

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

and according to the question they've given a = 50 b = 33 so all u need to find c which is shown by satellite a^2 + b^2 = c^c 50^2 + 33^2 = c^2 c^2 = 3589 then c will be the square root of 3589 which is 59 .90

so would the answer be 60 inches

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes by rounding it off

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

yep!!

ok thx @annas and @***[ISURU]***
