OpenStudy (anonymous):

area is the length, times by the width. so for your example you have length 12ft, so if it was 1ft wide, you would have 12ft squared. for each extra ft wide you get another column of 12. yours is 7.5ft wide, so your answer is 12 x 7.5 = 90

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

for a rectangle, the area is \[A = l*w\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A= width times length 7.5*12 = 90

OpenStudy (linn99123):

so a?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

If 7.5 feet * 12 feet = 90 feet squared, then yes.
