The first 10 amendments delineate individual rights. However, there is a tendency for government to get big and restrict those rights. The 2nd amendment is a good example how "big government" attempts to trample this right. I have to admit History is not my best subject, and this sounds like a written assignment, however, individual freedoms have to be constantly safeguarded or they will be stripped a away by a tyrannical government.
