if you delete a question, will it delete the medals given?

Yes. Any smart score raises from said question go away.

This also applies for deleting posts, but only moderators can delete entire questions.

Yes - you'll lose all your stats gained on that particular post or question.

However, "deletion," isn't the right term. Moderators simply hide the link so you can't view the post. It's still archived and moderators can review it at any point in history.
