Explain why the equation of a horizontal line is y = b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = mx + b slope = m =0

OpenStudy (nikato):

So the equation for a line can be written in the form y=mx+b Where m=slope. And since there's no slope in a horizontal line it's 0. And 0(x)=0 So y=0+b y=b
