Definitely, yup! It is a good practice to mention your interests and work!
That said, it indirectly is written in your profile. Scroll down the profile and see the subjects they have gotten the most medals in. Otherwise, yes, the person may not specialise in all the areas of the subject, so they must enter it manually.

yeah i think it shoud be mentioned somewhere where u can easily see it so that we can tag the right person in our question!

it happened a few days ago. I asked a question in chemistry and tagged 3 ambassadors.
two of them didnt bother to come up to the question. one came gave me a medal and went away.

I imagine that you're asking to make such information about helpers more accessible?
like perhaps having more specific titles instead of just "Lifesaver" and such? :)
